H.M.S. Dulverton (Commander Stuart Austen Buss, MVO, DSC) was sunk by a Hs 293 guided bomb launched from a German Do 217 E-5 aircraft from KG 100 off Kos. The glider bomb struck H.M.S. Dulverton abreast the bridge, inflicting serious damage and starting extensive fires.
The destroyer sustained heavy casualties, but six officers and 114 ratings were rescued before she was scuttled two hours later by H.M.S. Belvoir. Three officers, and 75 ratings were lost with H.M.S. Dulverton.
